Yale’s Class of 2017 includes students admitted in the fall and those accepted this spring, who were notified on March 28. An additional 1,001 students have been admitted to the waitlist. Yale College anticipates enrolling a little over 1,350 students in the incoming freshman class. Dean Jeffrey Brenzel noted that Yale faced an extraordinary applicant pool and a challenging selection process, and despite offering admission to many talented applicants, most will attend other top-tier institutions. Among those admitted to Yale, the incoming students will bring exceptional talents and aspirations. Last year, Yale admitted 1,973 students from an applicant pool of 28,975 and waitedlisted 1,001. After making additional offers to 70 students on the waitlist, Yale’s class of 2017 grew to 2,043 admitted and 61 deferred students, resulting in a total of 1,356 enrolling students.
