Terms of Use

These Terms of Use cover your use of megaprep.net and its pages, videos, newsletters and online tools (the “Site”). The Site is run by HCSI INC DBA Mega Prep, Mega College Prep (“Mega,” “we,” “us” or “our”). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and is part of these Terms.

1. Who may use the Site

No one under the age of 13 may send us information or post information on the Site. Students aged 13 to 17 should use the Site with a parent or guardian, and a parent or guardian must agree to any services on the student’s behalf.

2. Our services have their own agreement

Counseling, tutoring, test prep, research, competition and essay services are covered by our Educational Consulting and Writing Services Agreement, including its fees, deadlines and refund policy. If these Terms and that Agreement differ on anything about our services, the Agreement controls.

3. Information on the Site and no guarantee of results

The Site gives general information about college admissions, test prep and academic programs. It is not legal, financial or medical advice. Colleges, universities and programs make their own admission decisions, and test scores and grades depend on each student’s own work. We cannot guarantee admission to any school or program, any test score, any grade or any scholarship.

Results we describe, such as the share of our students accepted to their top five choices, describe past students’ outcomes. They are not a promise of what any one student will achieve. Deadlines, requirements and program details change often, so always check them with the school or testing organization.

4. Images, videos and digitally created people

Some people and voices in our images and videos are digitally created. They illustrate our services and are not photos or recordings of actual clients unless we say so.

5. Who owns the content

All content on the Site, including text, videos, illustrations, practice questions, guides, logos and page design, belongs to HCSI INC or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, sell, share for a fee, frame or change our content, or use it to train software or AI models, without our written permission.

6. Access codes, invitations and sign-in

Some pages and programs are offered by invitation or referral and need an access code. Codes are personal: keep them private and do not share or publish them. We may change or cancel a code at any time. If you sign up for our newsletter with your Google account, we receive your name and email address from Google and use them as described in our Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.

7. Using the Site fairly

When you use the Site, please do not:

• break any law or anyone else’s rights;
• use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to copy pages or send large numbers of requests;
• try to get around security, access codes or blocks, or test the Site for weaknesses without our permission;
• upload viruses or harmful code;
• pretend to be someone else or give false information in our forms;
• send spam or unwanted ads through our forms.

We may block access to the Site for anyone who breaks these rules.

8. Information you send us

When you fill in a form, send a message or share documents, you confirm that the information is accurate and that you have the right to share it. We use it to answer you and to provide our services, as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Links to other websites

The Site links to other websites, such as YouTube, colleges, testing organizations and scholarship programs. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.

10. Site provided “as is”

We work to keep the Site accurate and available, but it is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind about the Site, including that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or free of harmful components.

11. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Mega and HCSI INC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim about the Site itself is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100). Claims about our paid services are covered by the Services Agreement. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

12. Your responsibility

You agree to cover any claims, losses or costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) caused by your breaking these Terms or misusing the Site.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about these Terms or the Site will be heard in the state or federal courts llocated in Sacramento County, California, unless the Services Agreement says otherwise.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the Site after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
