More than 1,000 admitted students gathered on Brown University’s College Hill for A Day on College Hill, an event designed to offer a glimpse into life at Brown. This annual tradition took place over two days, April 12 and April 19, 2024, providing an immersive experience for the Class of 2028.

The event, known as ADOCH, featured a wide array of activities aimed at helping admitted students decide whether to join the Brown community. These included speed friending sessions, tours of residential areas, lunch options from local food trucks, and performances by the Brown Band. Other highlights involved panel discussions, an overview of the university’s Open Curriculum, and departmental open houses.

Logan Powell, associate provost for enrollment and dean of undergraduate admission, emphasized the importance of ADOCH. He stated, “A Day on College Hill is a time-honored rite of passage at Brown that gives admitted students a valuable opportunity to immerse themselves in life at Brown as they make this tremendously important decision.” Over 1,000 admitted students from 42 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and 27 other countries participated, alongside their parents who attended Q&A sessions and a support services fair.

Admitted students had until May 1, 2024, to accept Brown’s offer of admission. The event was part of the broader efforts by the Office of Undergraduate Admission to ensure prospective students felt connected to the Brown community.

Photos from the event showed admitted students engaging in various activities, from meeting future classmates to exploring the campus and enjoying lunch options. The Brown Band performed during lunch in Sayles Hall, adding to the festive atmosphere.
